3x - 5y = -1 ....................... (eq. 1)

x - y = -1

⇒ y = x + 1 ........................(eq 2)

Substituting the value of y in eq. 1

⇒ 3x - 5(x + 1) = -1 

⇒ 3x - 5x - 5 = -1 

⇒ -2x = 4

⇒ x = -2

⇒ y = x + 1 = -2 + 1 = -1

Hey mate ,

x+y=3

x+y=1

thus ,

x=1 -y

putting this vale in eq 1

1-y +y=3

1 = 3

which is not possible

Hence this question is wrong .

also we can see two same equations can't give two solutions at same integral equation .
