Answer :-- x = 4 and y = -1

given :- i ) x +y = 3 ------ (i)

ii) x- y =5

To find : -

value of x and y

☜☆☞ :-- by using subsitution method

now

y = 3 - x ----- (iii)

☜☆☞-- > putting the value of of y in equation --(ii)

x - (3 -x ) =5

x -3 + x =5

2x = 5+3

2x = 8

x = 8 /2

x = 4

☜☆☞ - now we again put the value of x in equation --(iii)

y = 3 -4

==> -1

y = -1

☜☆☞ - the value of the linear equation

x = 4 and y = -1
