x+y=3. eq(i)

y-x=-4. eq(ii)

on adding both eqs. we get,

x+y+y-x=3+(-4)

2y=-1

y=-0.5

on putting the value of y in eq(i). we get,

x+y=3

x+(-0.5)=3

x=3+0.5

x=3.5

so,

x=3.5

y=-0.5
