Answer:

x=y-4... (1)

2x+4y=10..(2)

dividing the equation (2) by 2

x+2y=5.. (3)

substituting equation (1) in (3)

(y-4) +2y=5

y+2y=9

3y=9

y=3

putting y=3 in equation (1)

x=3-4

x=-1
