x-y = 4 -eq1. x+y=6 -eq2.

x= 4+y

putting the value of x in equation 2

x+y=6

(4+y)+y=6

4+2y=6

2y=6-4

2y=2

y=2/2

y=1

x=4+y

x=4+1

x=5

x=5. and y=1.
