Question :-

Simplify it :

→ ( x +y)(4x - 5y) - (x +y)(2x +3y)

Answer :-

→ 2x² -8y² - 6xy

Explanation :-

→ ( x +y)(4x - 5y) - (x +y)(2x +3y)

→ 4x²-5xy +4xy -5y² -{2x² +3xy +2xy+3y²}

arrange these ,

→ 4x² - 2x² -5y² -3y² - xy - 5xy

→ 2x² -8y² - 6xy

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+y)(4x--5y)-(x+y)(2x+3y)

{(x+y)×4x (x+y)-5} - {(x+y)×2x(x+y)3y}

(4x²+4xy-5yx-5y²)-(2x²+2xy+3yx+3y²)

(2x²+2xy-8yx-8y²)
