Question :- x+y=5 , 2x-3y=4 solve by elimination method .

Solution :-

→ x + y = 5 ----------- Eqn.(1)

→ 2x - 3y = 4 ----------- Eqn.(2)

Multiply Eqn.(1) by 2 and then, subtracting Eqn.(2) from the result we get,

→ 2(x + y) - (2x - 3y) = 2 * 5 - 4

→ 2x + 2y - 2x + 3y = 10 - 4

→ 2x - 2x + 2y + 3y = 6

→ 5y = 6

→ y = (6/5) .

putting value of y in Eqn.(1) now,

→ x + (6/5) = 5

→ x = 5 - (6/5)

→ x = (25 - 6)/5

→ x = (19/5) .

Hence, x is equal to (6/5) and y is equal to (19/5).
