Answer:

∴x+y=5 ------ (1.)

∴3x+y=11 ------- (2.)

From (1.) , we get

∴x+y=5

∴x=5-y -------(3.)

Substituting the value of x in (2.) ,

∴3x+y=11

∴3(5-y)+y=11

∴15-3y+y=11

∴-2y=-4

∴y=-4/-2

∴y=2

Substituting the value of y in (3.) ,

∴x=5-y

∴x=5-2

∴x=3
