Answer:

x+y=5

x-y=1

Adding the equations,

2x = 6

x=3

Substituting the value of x in second equation

3-y = 1

3-1=y

2=y

So x=3 and y=2 Ans.

x+y=5___ equation (i)

x-y=1___ equation (ii)

By adding given two equations

2x=6

=> x=6/2=3

from equation (i) y= 5-x=5-3=2.
