here, by elimination method, x+y=5

                                                x-y=3

                                          2x=8                  

                                            x=4

                          therefore, y=1

                                      idk what u typed, but if its X^2+y^2 then,

                                    16+1=17

                              and if its 2x+2y then,

                                  2(4)+2(1)=10
