Answer:

X-y =5

y=5+X

second

xy=126

x.(5+X)=126

5x+x^2=126

x^2+5x-126=0

use D=b^2 - 4ac/2a

AND FIND X VALUE AFTER FIND X PUT THE VALUE AND GET ANSWER

\large{\underline{\underline{\red{\bf{Solution}}}}}

We have two equations,

  • x - y = 5
  • x = 5 + y⠀⠀⠀...[1]

and,

  • xy = 126

Putting the value of x from [1] in the 2nd equation

→ (5 + y) × y = 126

→ 5y + y² = 126

→ y² + 5y - 126 = 0

Middle term splitting,

→ y² + 14y - 9y - 126 = 0

→ y(y + 14) - 9(y + 14) = 0

→ (y + 14) (y - 9) = 0

We get,

  • y = -14 or y = 9

For finding the value of x,

  • On putting y = -14

→ x - (-14) = 5

→ x + 14 = 5

→ x = 5 - 14

x = -9

  • On putting y = 9

→ x - 9 = 5

→ x = 5 + 9

x = 14

Hence,

  • x = -9 and y = -14

or,

  • x = 14 and y = 9
