Answer:

x + y = 6 multiply by 4

4x + 4y = 24-------> 1

4x - 3y = 12 -------> 2

Solving 1 & 2

4x + 4y = 24

4x - 3y = 12

7y = 12

y = 12/7

Substitute the value of y = 12/7 in equ 1

x + y = 6

x + 12/7 = 6

x = 6 - 12/7

x = 42 - 12/7

x = 30/7
