Solve by Graphing x+y=6 , x-y=2

x+y=6x+y=6 , x−y=2x-y=2

Subtract xx from both sides of the equation.

y=−x+6y=-x+6

x−y=2x-y=2

Subtract xx from both sides of the equation.

y=−x+6y=-x+6

−y=−x+2-y=-x+2

Multiply each term in y=x−2y=x-2 by −1-1

Tap for more steps...

y=−x+6y=-x+6

y=x−2y=x-2

Create a graph to locate the intersection of the equations. The intersection of the system of equations is the solution.

X+Y=6.... equation 1
X-Y=2........ equation 2

Solving by elimination
Adding equation 1 a2
X+Y=6
X-Y=2

2X =8
X=4

Finding Y by subtracting in equation 1
X+Y=6 Y=6-X
Y=6-4
Y=2

harsha5710: it is not clear plz draw the graph
