let they r two equations
x+y=6
+x-y=8
=2x=14
x=7
and y=7+y=6
y=-1

In these types of ques write one variable in form of the other and put the form in the other equation
x=6-y
(6-y)-y=8
6-2y=8
y=-1
Put these value of y in any one of the eq.
x-1=6
x=7
