x+y = 7

x= 7-y .

5x+12y = 7

putting value of x in equation 2.

5×(7-y) + 12y = 7 .

35- 5y +12y = 7 .

7y = -28.

y= -4 .

putting value of y in equation 1 we get

x+y=7 .

x+(-4) =7

x= 7+4 = 11.

Hope this answer will help you and plz mark it as brainliest.

                        another method

Here is your answer :

x + y = 7

5x + 12 y = 7

x = 7 - y

5 ( 7 - y ) + 12y = 7

35 - 5y + 12y = 7

7y = 7 - 35

7y = -28

y = -28 / 7

y = -4

x + ( - 4 ) = 7

x - 4 = 7

x = 7 + 4

x = 11

So x = 11 and y = -4

Hope it helps.

Have a good day .

Answer

Correct option is

A

x=11 and y=−4

x+y=7

5x+12y=7

5x+5y=35

5x+5y=35

5x+12y=7

−7y=28

y=−4

Substituting value of y in eq,(1), we get,

x−4=7

x=11
