x+y=7

x=7-y

5x+12y=7

5(7-y) =7

35-5y=7

35-7=5

28=5y

28/5=y

y=5.6

x=7-y

x=7-5.6

x=1.4

i hope its write.

Answer:

we have;

=> x+y=7

=> y=7-x ----------(1)

also,

=> 5x+12y=7 -------(2).

now putting the value of y =(7-x) in the equation------(2),

we get,

=> 5x+12(7-x)=7

=> 5x+84-12x=7

=> 12x-5x=84-7

=> 7x=77

=> x=1

thus using eq----(1),

we get,

y=7-x

y=7-1

y=6.

I hope it would help you

thank you
