The above statement signifies that:-

All the three equations are equal:-

therefore,

x+y - 8/2 = x+2y - 14/3

=> x+y - 4 = x+2y - 14/3

=> x-x + y-2y = -14/3 + 4

=> y-2y = (-14+12)/3

=> -y = -2/3

therefore, value of y = 2/3.

now, value of x:-

x+y - 8/2 = 3x+y - 12/11

=> x-3x + y-y = -12/11 + 4

=> -2x = (-12+44)/11

=> -2x = 32/11

=> x = (32/11)/-2

=> x = 32/11*1/-2

=> x = -16/11

therefore, value of x = -16/11.
