x + y = 8 \: \: \: (eq1) \\ x - y = 2 \: \: \: (eq2) \\ \\ adding \: both \: equation \: we \: get \\ 2x = 10 \\ x = 5 \\ \\ putting \: the \: value \: in \: eq1 \: we \: get \\ y = 8 - 5 \\ y = 3 \\ \\ now \\ = > 2 {x}^{2} + 2 {y}^{2} \\ = > 2 {(5)}^{2} + 2 {(3)}^{2} \\ = > 2 \times 25 + 2 \times 9 \\ = > 50 + 18 \\ = > 68
