Answer:

hey mate

x+y=9 1eq

8x-y=0 2eq

from 1st equation we get

x+y=9

x = 9-y

by substitution method

put the value of x in 2nd equation

8x-y= 0

8(9-y) - y = 0

72-8y -y =0

7y= -72

y= -72/7

y= -10.28

put the value of y in

x = 9-y

x = 9 - 10.28

x = 1.28

hope it will help you

Answer:

x = 1.625 , y = 4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

from equestion 1

X + y = 9

8 x - y = 0

substituting x = 9- y in equation (2)

8x - y =0

(9-y)-y = 0

9 -y-y = 0

9-2y = 0

y = 9/2

y = 4.5

Putting y = 4.5 In

8x-y =4

8x - 4.5 = 4

8x = 4+4.5

8x = 8.5

x = 8.5 / 8

= 1.625
