The given question is x+y-a=0.---1

ax+by-b2=0.-----2

we have to solve it by substitution method.

x+y-a=0

x+y=a

y=a-x.-----3

sub y=a-x in 2 we get,

ax + b(a - x) -  {b}^{2}  = 0 \\ ax + ba - bx -  {b \\ }^{2}   = 0\\ x(a - b) + b(a - b) = 0. \\ (a - b)(x + b) = 0

x+b= 1/a-b.

x =  \frac{1}{a - b}   -  b \\  =  \frac{1 - ab +  {b}^{2} }{a - b}

sub x value in 3

y

 y = a \:  -  \frac{1 - ab +  {b}^{2} }{a - b}  \\  {a}^{2}  - ab - (1 - ab +  {b}^{2} ) \div (a - b) \\  \frac{ {a }^{2}  - ab - 1 + ab -  {b}^{2} }{a - b}

y =   \frac{{a}^{2}  - 1 -  {b}^{2}}  { a - b}
