Answer:

profit for X = 1120

profit for Y = 1280

profit for Z = 960

Step-by-step explanation:

let Z invested = a

then Y invested = a+2000

and X invested = a+1000

given,

a + a+2000 + a+1000 = 21000

=> 3a + 3000 = 21000

=> 3a = 21000 - 3000 = 18000

=> a = 18000/3 = 6000

so, Z invested = a = 6000

Y invested = a+2000 = 6000+2000 = 8000

and X invested = a+1000 = 6000+1000 = 7000

so ratio of investment for X, Y and Z

= 7000 : 8000 : 6000

= 7 : 8 : 6

accordingly, ratio of profits for X, Y and Z

= 7 : 8 : 6

given, net profit = 16% of 21000 = 16×21000/100 = 3360

so, profit for X = 7×3360/(7+8+6) = 7×3360/21 = 1120

profit for Y = 8×3360/(7+8+6) = 8×3360/21 = 1280

profit for Z = 6×3360/(7+8+6) = 6×3360/21 = 960
