Given : x,y and z are observations and the sum of their frequencies is 50 and relative frequencies corresponding to x and z are 30% and 40% respectively.

To Find :

a) what is the frequency corresponding to y?

b) what will be the cumulative frequency of x and z?

Solution:

x + y + z = 50

relative frequencies of  x  = (x/50) * 100  = 30

=> x = 15

relative frequencies of  z = (z/50) * 100  = 40

=>z =20

frequency corresponding to y = 50 - 15 - 20

= 15

cumulative frequency of x and z = 15 + 20 = 35
