Answer:

5: 2

Explanation:

X, Y, and Z are partners sharing profits in the ratio of 5:3:2. if Y retires then new ratio will be ________. (Fill in the blank by choosing correct option)

(a) 5:2

(b) 5:3

(c) 3:2

(d) 1:1

X, Y, and Z are partners sharing profits in the ratio of 5:3:2

Let say profit of X , Y & Z are respectively

5K  , 3K & 2K

Total Profit = 5K + 3K + 2K = 10 K

Now Y retires

So now total amount of X & Z = 5

X will Get   =(5K/7K) * 10 K = 50K/7

Z  will Get = (2K/7K) * 10K = 20K/7

Ratio of X : Z  = 50K/7 : 20K/7

= 5: 2

option a is correct
