the compounded ratio of the ratios
(a:b), (c:d) and (e:f) is  ace ;bdf

(x+y) : (x-y) , (x²+y²) :(x+y)² : (x^4 -y^4) compounded ratio is

(x+y)(x²+y²)(x²-y²) : (x-y) (x+y)²(x^4 - y^4)

= (x+y)[x^4 -y^4 ] : (x-y) (x+y)(x+y) [x^4-y^4]
after cancellation

= 1:(x-y)(x+y)

=1: (x²-y²)

mysticd: u'r welcome
