Step-by-step explanation:

 {x }^{2} -1  +  \sqrt{2} x  +  \sqrt{2 }  = 0

(  {x}^{2}  - 1)  + \sqrt{2} (x + 1) = 0

(x - 1)(x + 1) +  \sqrt{2} (x + 1) = 0

(  {x}^{2}  - 1)  + \sqrt{2} (x + 1) = 0

(x + 1)(x - 1 +  \sqrt{2} ) = 0

x=-1 and x=1-sqrt{2}
