x² + 1/x² - 11 = 0

=> x² + 1/x² = 11

=> x² + 1/x² - 2 = 11 - 2

=> (x - 1/x)² = 9

=> x - 1/x = 3 or -3

=> x² - 3x -1 = 0 or x² + 3x -1 = 0

=> x = (3+√13)/2 or (3-√13)/2
