Given :-

x² + 1/x² = 2

To Prove :-

It's a quadratic equation or not

Solution :-

\sf \bigg(x^2+\dfrac{1}{x^2}\bigg)=2

Multiply LHS by x²

\sf \bigg(x^2+\dfrac{1}{x^2}\bigg)\times x^2=2

\sf \bigg(x^4+\dfrac{1}{x^2}\bigg)=2

\sf\dfrac{x^4+1}{x^2}=2

\sf x^4+1=2(x^2)

\sf x^4+1=2x^2

\sf 2x^2-x^4+1=0

The standard form of quadratic equation

\bf ax^2+bx+c=0

But, the equation is not in the form of the quadratic equation. Hence, the given equation is not a quadratic equation

Answer:

ax² + bx + c = o

the equation is not valid because of their double square

therefore this is not a quadratic equation
