For equal roots

b sq =4 ac

(-2k)sq = 4 .1.(7k -12)

4 k sq = 4(7k-12)

k sq = 7k -12

k sq - 7k +12=0

k sq -4k -3k +12=0

k (k -4)-3(k-4)=0

(k-4)(k-3)=0

ie k=3,4 ans
