 {x}^{2} + 2x - 143 = 0 \\ {x}^{2} + 13x - 11x - 143 = 0 \\ x(x + 13) - 11(x + 13) = 0 \\ (x - 11)(x + 13) = 0 \\ x = 11 \: and \: - 13

Given:

  • Quadratic equationx^2+2x-143=0 is given.

To Find:

  • Find the value of  x.

Solution:

Given equation is

                        x^2+2x-143=0

We have to make the factors of (-143x^2)

                    ⇒ x^2+2x-143=0

                    ⇒ x^2+13x- 11x - 143=0

Taking out common term

             ⇒ x(x+13) - 11(x + 13)=0

             ⇒  (x+13) (x - 11)=0

If                 ⇒   (x+13) =0

                 ⇒    x = -13\\

Or

                  ⇒  (x - 11) = 0

                  ⇒   x = 11

Thus, The vale of x is 11 and (-13)
