Please help me with this problem.

Answer:

x=[-(-4a)+/-sqrt((-4a)^2–4*1*(4a^2-b^2))]/(2*1)

= [(4a)+/-sqrt(16a^2–16a^2+4b^2))]/2

=[4a+/-sqrt(4b^2))]/(2)=(4a+/-2b)/2

Hence,

x = (2a+b) or (2a-b).
