Answer:

x² -5x+5=0

x²-5x=-5

x²-5x+k=(x+a)²

x²-5x+k=x²+2ax+a²

2a=-5. i.e. a=-5/2 and k=a²=(-5/2)²

=25/4

adding 25/4 on both sides of equation i

we get x²-5x+25/2=-5+25/2

therefore (x+5/root2)²=10+25/2

x+5/root2=35/2

x=32/root2-5/2

x= 64-5root2/2root2

x=64+5root2/2root2
