Hi there !!

Given,

To factorise x² - y² + 2x - 2y

Using the 3rd identity, ie, a²- b² = (a - b)(a + b) and taking 2 as common factor in 2x - 2y,
We have,

(x - y)(x + y) + 2(x - y)

Taking (x - y) as common factor,
we have,

(x - y)(x + y + 2)
is the answer.
