Taking negative as a common factor in the last three terms to get the form (a+b)^2, then later on using the a^2-b^2 formula which is (a+b)(a-b)

x^2-(y^2+2y+1)

x^2-((y)^2 + 2 times y times 1 + 1 squared)

x^2-(y+1)^2

Using a^2-b^2 formula, in this case a=x^2 and b=(y+1)^2

(x+y+1)(x-y-1)

^it represent square of the number
