(x-y) = 3

or, (x-y)² = 3² [Squaring both sides]

or, x²-2xy+y² = 9

or, x²+y² = 9+2xy

or, 2xy = -5

or, xy = -5/2

Therefore, x³-y³

= (x-y) (x²+xy+y²)

= 3 (4 + (-5/2))

= 3 (4 + (-2.5))

= 3 (1.5)

= 4.5 [Ans]
