7

Answer:-

- = 7

(x + y) (x - y) = 7 (i)

x - y = 2 (ii)

Put equation (ii) in (i)

(x + y) 2 = 7

x + y = 7/2

x + y = 3.5 (iii)

Solving equation (ii) and (iii) we get,

2x = 5.5

x = 5.5/2

x = 2.75 , put in equation (ii)

x - y = 2

y = x - 2

y = 2.75 - 2

y = 0.75

Hence, x = 2.75 and y = 0.75

Answer:

\huge\longrightarrow\boxed {x = 2.75}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

\sf\bold {{x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}  = 7}  \: ........(i)\\  \\ \bold {x - y = 2} \: ........(ii)

Using Basic Identity :-

\longrightarrow\sf{a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}  = (a + b)(a - b)

Using this identity in equaltion (i) :-

\sf(x + y)(x - y) = 7

Using (ii) in (i)

\sf(x + y)2 = 7 \\  \\  \longrightarrow (x + y) =  \frac{7}{2}  \\  \\  \longrightarrow(x + y) = 3.5 \: ........(iii)

Equating (ii) and (iii)

(x+y)=3.5

(x-y)=2

(-)(+)=(-)

______________

2y=1.5

y=0.75......(iv)

Using (iv) in (iii)

x + 0.75 = 3.5 \\  \\ \longrightarrow  x = 3.5 - 0.75 \\  \\ \sf\huge\bigstar\boxed{x = 2.75}
