Solution -

 \frac{ {x}^{2} \: - \: {y}^{2} }{(x \: + \: y)} \\ \\ = \frac{ \cancel{(x + y)}(x - y)}{ \cancel{(x + y)} } \\ \\ = (x - y)

Identity used -

a² - b² = (a + b) (a - b)

Explaination -

Here, at first we have to factorise (x² - y²)

Then, we have to go to the next step where we have to cut both the common numbers and the remaining number in the numerator is the answer

∴ The Answer is : (x - y)
