(x^2+y^2)/(x^2-y^2)=17/8

17*(x^2+y^2)=8*(x^2-y^2)

17x^2+17y^2=8x^2-8y^2

17x^2-8x^2=-8y^2-17y^2

9x^2=-25y^2

(3x)^2=(5y)^2

3x=5y

x:y=5/3
