Step-by-step explanation:

x ( x² - 2xy + y²) = 0

so

x = 0 is one factor

then

x² - 2xy + y² =0

y²( x²/y²- 2x/y + 1) = 0

here

y²= 0

y = 0 is one factor

x²/y²- 2x/y + 1 = 0

let x/y = X

X² - 2X + 1 = 0

(X -1) ( X -1) = 0

X = 1

X = x/y

1 = x/y
