X³ + 5x²- 14x =0 solve this question by hit and trial method​

Answer:

 {x}^{3}  + 5 {x}^{2}  - 14x = 0

by trial , let x= 2

substituting the values

=2*2*2 + 5*2*2 - 14*2

=8+20-28

=0

hence zero of the polynomial is -2

therefore first factor is x-2

perform long division by taking x-2 as divisor and the given polynomial as dividend

dividend = divisor * quotient + remainder

bcoz I m not able to represent the division here , I m writing the quotient directly

quotient is

 {x}^{2}  + 7

therefore by factorisation

the given polynomial =

( {x}^{2}  + 7) (x - 2)
