(x¹ - 3x²)+i(2x - y) = 4+ (2y – 5)i

⇒ (x²-3x² - 4) +i(2x - y - 2y + 5) = 0

⇒x²-3x² -4 = 0 and 2x - 3y + 5 = 0

Now, x⁴-3x²-4 = 0⇒ (x² - 4)(x² + 1) =0

⇒x=2 or x = -2

(x = 2 ⇒ y = 3) and (x = -2 ⇒ y = 13)
