XAMPLES
A cylindrical tub of radius 5 cm and length 9.8 cm is full of water
A solid in the form of a right circular cone mounted on a hemisphere
is immersed into the tub. If the radius of the hemisphere is 3.5 cm and
the total height of the solid is 8.5 cm, find the volume of water left in
the tub.

Answer:

Volume of water in tub=πr  2  h=π×5  2 ×9.8cm  3

Volume of Hemishpere=  2 ×π×3.5  3 cm  3                                                                              

Volume of cone=  3 1 π×3.5  2 ×5cm  3                                                                     Volume of water left in the tub = Volume of water in tub-Volume of toy         Volume left = π×25×9.8−(  3 2  ×π×3.5  3  +  1/3 π×3.5  2  ×5)                                    

V=π(245−49)=  7 22  ×196=22×28=616cm  3
