Answer:

the factor theorem says when p(x)=0 then the factor of p(a) is (x-a) is factor of p(x)

so x^3-x^2-14x+24

let's take x as 2 so ...

2^3-2^2-14*2+24 =8-4-28+24 = 0

so (x-2) is a factor of polynomial

lets substitute x=3 so..

3^3-3^2-14*3+24=27-9-42+24=0

so (x-3) is a factor of polynomial

let's substitute x= -4 so..

-4^3-(-4^2)-14*-4+24=-64-16+56+24=-80+80=0

so (x+4) is also a factor of given polynomial
