Solution :

Given :

• Sum of 2 numbers is 85.

• One number is 15 less than the other.

Let's do ::

Let, one number be x,

15 less than the other is x - 15

$\sf \: ➝ \: \: x + (x - 15) = 85 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: \: x + x - 15 = 85 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: 2x - 15 = 85 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: \: 2x = 85 + 15 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: \: 2x = 100 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: \: x = \frac{100}{2} \\ \\ \bf➝ \: \: x \: = 50$

So , X = 50

$\sf \: ➝ \: x - 15 \\ \\ \sf➝ \: \: 50 - 15 \\ \\ ➝ \sf \: = 35 \\ \\ \bf \: x - 15 = 35$

So, the two numbers are 50 and 35
