These all properties are with dilute acids only.

When an acid reacts with metal oxide, then the corresponding salt of the metal along with water is formed.
ZnO + HCl = ZnCl2 + H2O

When an acid reacts with a metal carbonate or bicarbonate, then corresponding salt of the the metal along with water and carbon dioxide is formed.
ZnCO3 + HCl = ZnCl2 + H20 + CO2[g]
