xylem transport is unidirectional and phloem transport is bidirectional. why?

Xylem transport is unidirectional because water has only to be transported to the leaves for the preparation of food

Phloem transport is bidirectional because food has to be transported to both upper and lower parts of the plant

xylem take up water from soil, to transported water from root to leaves of tree so it is unidirectional.....

phloem transport food which is synthesized by leaves to all parts of tree that's why it bidirectional....
