Xylem vessels become coloured when placed in coloured solution, why?

we know that xylem tissue is used to take water from the roots . when we place in colour solution they become coloured because xylem contain water so water is react with the colour solution

Well sis that's because of capillary action, because the function of xylem is to transport water from the ground to all parts of the plant thus when a plant kept in a coloured solution the xylem by the help of capillary action takes the coloured water from the solution and tries to transport it to other parts as well.
