(y+3) (y-3) -y(y+5)=6
let us first solve (y+3) (y-3)
y^2-3y+3y-9
cancel +3y and -3y
y^2 -9 -y(y+5)=6
y^2 -9 -y^2-5y=6
cancel y^2 and -y^2
-9 -5y=6
-5y = 6+9
-5y = 15
y = 15/-5
therefore y = -3
hope it helps you

answer
y=3/5
explanation
(y+3)(y-3)-y(y+5)=6
y^2-3^2-y^2-5y=6. [using formula (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2)[multiple -y to other terms]
now y^2and -y^2 will cancel out each other due to opposite signs
we will get 9-5y=6
now shift 9 to other side we get -5y= -3 as by shifting 9 will become-9
now cancel minus on both sides we get 5y = 3 shift 5 to other side it will. get divided to 3 and we get. y = 3/5 as final answer..
Hope this will help you....
