what is the missing value in the solution to the equation?

Sol.

step 1:Because the first equation is already solve for y, substitute 4x-9 for y in the second equation &solve for x:

y=x-3 becomes:

4x-9=x-3

4x-9+9-x=x-3+9-x

4x-1x-9+9=x-x-3+9

(4-1)x-0=0+6

3x=6

3x/3=6/3

3x/3=2

x=2

step2: substitute 2 for x in the first equation and calculate y:

y=4x-9 becomes:

y=(4×2)-9

y=8-9

x=2

The solution is x=2 & x=2 or(2,1)
