We know that :

(a + b) ^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  + 2ab +  {b}^{2}

So,

(y + 9) ^{2}

( {y})^{2}  + 2 \times y \times 9 +  ({9})^{2}

 {y}^{2}  + 18y + 81
