Given : The Y-axis and line x= -6 are the parallel lines

To Find : distance between them

Solution:

Y-axis   is  x = 0

any point of y axis is  ( 0 , y)

line x= -6

any point of line x = -6 is ( -6 , y)

Distance between parallel lines

= √(0 -(-6))² + (y - y)²

=  √6² + 0²

= √6²

=  6

distance between  Y-axis and line x= -6   is  6 unit
